Iranian president to visit Tajikistan on November 7
DUSHANBE - Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will pay a two-day visit to Dushanbe on November 7 for talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, the Tajik leader's spokesperson told TASS on Thursday.
"The Iranian president will pay an official visit to Tajikistan on November 7-8. A bilateral meeting with the Tajik president followed by a second meeting with a wider circle are planned within the framework of the visit," Abdufattoh Sharifzoda said.
Earlier, Tajikistan's Committee for Investment and State Property Management reported that a forum for entrepreneurs from the two countries will be held in Dushanbe on November 8-9.
In September, the leaders of Tajikistan and Iran held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 78th UN General Assembly in New York, discussing the easing of visa requirements and increasing the number of flights between the two countries. The presidents also emphasized the need to continue cooperation in trade and economy, energy, transportation and transit, as well as tourism.
In October, Rahmon and Tajik Defense Minister Sherali Mirzo discussed security issues with Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiyani in Dushanbe.
